Scorpions Win, Wade goes 4-for-5
|
Scottsdale third baseman Frank Wade was instrumental in his team's 8-3 win over the Potthole Pride. Wade, who is tied for 9th in the NL with a .519 slugging percentage, went 4-5 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Scorpions. Cal Hall picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 8 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 15-7. Stephen Elam was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 3 save opportunities.
Tracy O'Keiran chipped in for Scottsdale with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"I really like what we did out there today," Wade said after the game.
Scottsdale, now 85-73, holds second place in the Nationalist League Stars Division.
