Hitmakers Get Road Win, 7-3
|
The Motown Hitmakers relied on the hitting of catcher Evan Higgins to stop the Scottsdale Scorpions, 7-3. For the game, Higgins went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Motown starter Dewey Cowan was credited with the win after throwing 107 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 13-5. The Hitmakers bumped their record to 89-64 with this latest triumph.
José Lluea helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Motown a 2-0 lead.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Lluea told the Motown Daily News. "It's as simple as that."
