The Phoenix Downs picked up a win at The Ashes, knocking off the Newcastle House of Brews, 4-3. On the mound for Phoenix was right-hander Lynn Lawrence, who played a pivotal role in the win. Kerry Shields converted his 30th save in 38 tries. Phoenix is now riding a 3-game win streak.

Lawrence, who was born in Los Angeles, California, threw 112 pitches over 8 innings, while allowing 1 earned run.
