Scottsdale rode a good effort from starter Don Hanna to beat the Iowa City Stalkers at The Stinger. The final score was 2-1. The Scorpions bumped their record to 73-59 with this latest triumph.
The Scorpions got a big at-bat from catcher Dillon Thompson. For the game, Thompson went 1-3. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 59th hit of the season gave Scottsdale a 2-1 lead.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Hanna said.
