Scottsdale starter Dan Davenport pitched effectively against the Cummaquid Squids at The Squid's Beak. The right-hander led his team to a 6-2 win. Davenport went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 10-8. Arthur Richards got the save, his 1st in 3 chances.

Grant Norris, who is tied for 10th in the NL with a .513 slugging percentage, aided the Scottsdale cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the third. For the game, the left fielder went 2-4 with 2 doubles.

"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Norris told the Scottsdale Citizen.

The Scorpions bumped their record to 66-45 with this latest triumph.
