|
Kaoru Fujihara had a hand in Newcastle defeating Phoenix by the score of 6-4. Fujihara went 3 for 4 at the plate, scoring 1 times and driving in 3 runs. Cecil West got the save, his 17th in 20 chances. The second-place Downs have lost 4 straight games.
The House of Brews beat the Downs in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out home run Keith Lee produced in the bottom of the sixth. Batting against Phoenix pitcher Cory Carlson, Lee gave his team a 3-2 lead when he hit a solo home run.
"Feels good to get the job done," Lee said after the game.
