Scottsdale pitcher William Knight gave the Moneymen all they could handle, but in the end, New York left The Stinger with a 1-0 win. Knight allowed 1 earned run on 2 hits over 7 innings. The Moneymen bumped their record to 53-52 with this latest triumph.

The Moneymen got a big at-bat from left fielder Kazunari Gato. For the game, Gato was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the seventh, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 15th home run of the season gave New York a 1-0 lead.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Gato.
