Hitmakers Win at Central Valley, 8-1
|
The Motown Hitmakers got a strong performance from pitcher José Romano, who stymied the Central Valley offense en route to a 8-1 win at The Euclyptus Nest. Romano, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. The Hitmakers bumped their record to 53-51 with this latest triumph.
Denny Dean, who is tied for 10th in the NL in RBI with 60, contributed to the Motown win with a 2-run home run in the top of the second. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
