Squids Bridle Scorpions, 2-1
|
Scottsdale wasted a solid 7-inning effort from starting pitcher William Knight, losing to Cummaquid, 2-1, at The Stinger. The Squids now have a mark of 29-47.
The Squids got a big at-bat from center fielder Pat Shirley. For the game, Shirley was 1-3 with a home run. In the top of the seventh, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Cummaquid a 2-1 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Shirley told reporters after the game.
