Victory Over Squids Takes Scottsdale to 47-27
|
Cummaquid had no answer for Scottsdale Scorpions hurler Diego López, who overwhelmed Squids hitters as the Scorpions coasted to a 6-1 victory. The winning pitcher was López, now 8-2. He tossed 5 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. The second-place Scorpions have won 4 straight games.
Frank Wade, who is tied for 10th in the NL in extra base hits with 31, aided the Scottsdale cause with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Wade told the Scottsdale Citizen.
