Hitmakers Walk Off with Win
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at Old League Park.
Motown beat Scottsdale at Old League Park, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Dewey Cowan, who earned player of the game honors. José López, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings.
Denny Dean, who is rated as the 2nd best prospect by BNN, chipped in for Motown with a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"We take it day by day here," said Cowan, "and today was a good one for us."
The Hitmakers bumped their record to 34-29 with this latest triumph.
