Stover Fashions Shutout Against Phoenix Monday, August 12th , 2052 Gregg Stover of the Memphis Steamers shut down the Phoenix Phoenix 3-0 on a 4-hitter, holding them scoreless while ringing up 5 strikeouts and allowing 1 walk. After the game Stover said, "Guys have been fouling off a lot of pitches lately and I've been getting into too many deep pitch counts, but I'm pleased with the way things went today. I went right after them and stayed ahead in the count." So far this year Stover has made 19 starts, tossed 132 innings, struck out 92 batters and walked 59.
