Reliever of the Year Award Goes to Yates Saturday, September 14th , 2052 When John Yates jogged in from the bullpen this season, opposing teams knew they were going to have a tough time putting up runs. The Kalamazoo Solicitors reliever turned in a dominant campaign and has been named the Abraham Lincoln League Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2052. His award-winning season saw the bullpen ace get 31 saves in 40 relief appearances, 60 strikeouts in 42.2 innings and only 16 walks. He had a record of 2 wins and 1 loss to go with his 0.63 ERA. "I hope I can pitch like this every year," he said. He received 17 first place votes out of a possible 20. Jimmy Sheffield of the Macon Whoopie finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Luis Arce of the Savannah Scouts finished third with 2 first place votes.
