Vampirez Gibson Gets No-Hitter Saturday, July 27th , 2052 Is it better to be lucky or good? After leading the Battle Creek Vampirez to victory, 1-0, and tossing a no-hitter over the Ann Arbor Owls, Dan Gibson didn't have the answer. "I don't know," Gibson said. "To do what I did today, I'm pretty sure it takes both." On his big day at Dogfish Ballpark, Gibson fanned 15 and had 5 walks. And it seemed that when the Owls managed to hit the ball hard, it went right at a defender. "That's how you get a no-hitter," Gibson said with a smile. "A lot of skill mixed with a little luck."
