Shamrocks Come up Short of Playoffs Monday, September 30th , 2052 A late-season playoff push is not in the cards for the Letterkenny Shamrocks. The club today was mathematically knocked out of playoff contention. "There are a lot of long faces around right now," said Shamrocks manager Matt Philpott. "You know in your head that every year, most teams in baseball have to go through this, but it still hurts when you realize you've lost your shot at a title." This is the club's 7th playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 2045.In total, the Shamrocks have missed the playoffs 36 times in their 46-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Shamrocks have only made the playoffs once. |
