In a remarkable performance, Pontiac Aztecs starter Kel Elizondo beat the Naubinway Mariners 1-0 in an impressive 2-hit shutout.

"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."

The Aztecs hurler finished with 10 strikeouts and 5 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.

"It was a rough one for my guys," Naubinway manager said following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."

This season Elizondo has fanned 44 in 37.2 innings and collected a 2-4 record with a 5.50 ERA.
