The Central Valley Turkey Vultures defeated the Wildwood Fishers, 8-1, in Nationalist League action at The Euclyptus Nest, with Central Valley pitcher Nick Coomer named player of the game. The first-place Turkey Vultures, at 99-63, now lead their division by 3˝ games.

Coomer, who dominated for Central Valley, earned the victory to move to 1-0. He was in control the whole game, scattering 3 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 2. Wildwood batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.

Said losing manager Scott Smith: "Give the Turkey Vultures credit. They took advantage of our mistakes."
