Renegades Stymie Diablo Canyon, Take 3-1 Win
|
The Texas Renegades and Diablo Canyon Tritium completed their game despite the inclement weather.
Texas shortstop Alejandro Marrero played a vital role in his team's 3-1 triumph over Diablo Canyon. He was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs for Texas. Jim Love, credited with the win, is now 6-11. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. Juan Arreola, credited with the save, is now 13 for 14 in save opportunities.
The Renegades got a big at-bat from left fielder Ben Hampton. For the game, Hampton was 1 for 3 with a double. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 10th double of the season gave Texas a 1-0 lead.
Hampton told a Texas News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The Renegades improve their record to 64-95 with the win over Diablo Canyon.
