O'Heydon Pitches Boomsticks to Shutout Victory
The Newcastle House of Brews ran into a buzzsaw at Quick Stop Stadium today as Asheville Boomsticks starter David O'Heydon cut them down to size, 5-0, tossing a 5-hit shutout.

"That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," Boomsticks manager Jon Papp told reporters after the game. "David knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one."

In the complete game whitewash, the Asheville hurler doled out 2 walks and registered 10 strikeouts.

Looking at his season stats, O'Heydon has won 12 and lost 14, collecting 129 strikeouts and 58 walks in 187.1 innings with a 3.17 ERA.
