Mojera Helps Hitmakers Run Win Streak to 3
|
The Motown Hitmakers beat the Potthole Pride, 9-5, at Old League Park. The Hitmakers got a fine performance from center fielder José Mojera, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Mark Thomas earned the win to go to 6-2. He allowed 3 earned runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. José López notched his 5th save in 6 chances.
José Bernard, who leads the NL in runs scored with 116, aided the Motown cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the second. For the game, the designated hitter was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Mojera told the Motown Daily News.
Motown now has a 3-game win streak.
