Stalkers Win at Texas, 3-1
|
The Iowa City Stalkers picked up a win at The Cavern, knocking off the Texas Renegades, 3-1. Starting pitcher Will Lester was an essential part of his team's success. Shimei Nakai was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 44 of 48 save opportunities. Texas now has a 5-game losing streak.
Alberto García, who is tied for 9th in the PL in extra base hits with 57, chipped in for Iowa City with a solo home run in the top of the fifth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"Will was throwing strikes, locating well," said Iowa City manager Mark Sands.
