Trojans Trip Indians in Extras
|
The home squad pulled out a thrilling walk-off win at James R. Fouts Memorial Stadium today.
The Warren Trojans topped the Indianapolis Indians by the score of 4-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to second baseman Tabito Takano. Takano slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Trojans on the day. Warren reliever Naomi Hayakawa picked up the win to move to 5-6. Owen Boulanger suffered the loss.
Takano had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the tenth. On a 2-2 fastball from Patrick Phillips, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Trojans a 4-2 lead. It was the 36th home run of the year for Takano.
"Our team showed some resilience," said Takano.
Warren has 3 straight wins, Indianapolis 3 straight losses.
