Indians Stumble, Lose to Turkey Vultures
|
The Central Valley Turkey Vultures defeated the Indianapolis Indians, 8-3, at Thunder Stadium. Francisco Ramírez was named player of the game for Central Valley. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 triple, in addition to the 1 run he scored and 3 he knocked in. Richard Davis earned the win for Central Valley. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 8 hits, while striking out 7. With the win, he raised his record to 17-9. Central Valley leads the Nationalist League Stripes Division by 5˝ games.
It could have been a different outcome for Central Valley, had it not been for Joe Winstanley, the slick-fielding third baseman . Winstanley contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Central Valley up, 4-3.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Ramírez.
