The Iowa City Stalkers downed the Asheville Boomsticks, 11-8, at Hayden Fry Field. The Stalkers were led by Earl Gill, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Shimei Nakai earned his 42nd save in 46 chances. Asheville has now lost 5 consecutive games.
Kurt Terry, who won the Roy Hobbs Award in 2028, chipped in for Iowa City with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
