House of Brews Come Back Late to Clip Tritium
|
The Diablo Canyon Tritium got a superb performance from first baseman Earl Hodges, but the Newcastle House of Brews still won the game, 10-8. Hodges was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Newcastle reliever Jesús Luna was the winner. His record is now 6-3. Yukio Hayagawa took the loss. Newcastle has now won 3 straight, while the Tritium have lost 4 in a row.
Chris Wells, who is tied for 6th in the PL with a .296 batting average, chipped in for Newcastle with a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI.
