LumberJaxxx Win Another One
|
The Ludington LumberJaxxx beat the Asheville Boomsticks, 11-4, at Quick Stop Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of second baseman Chris Hogbin, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Lou Godfrey got the win, improving to 20-5. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 5 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 5. Jon Marshall notched his 3rd save in 5 chances.
Curtis Carson, who is tied for 2nd in the PL in home runs with 40, chipped in for Ludington with a 2-run home run in the top of the third. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"I like our mindset right now," said Ludington manager Sam Genson.
Ludington has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
