Victory Over Trojans Takes Central Valley to 85-53
|
Central Valley and Warren duked it out at James R. Fouts Memorial Stadium and the Turkey Vultures came out victorious.
Central Valley designated hitter Shigekazu Nakano was instrumental in his team's 6-3 win over the Warren Trojans. Nakano, who is tied for 10th in the NL in runs scored with 75, went 2-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Turkey Vultures. Reynaldo Morán notched his 43rd save in 49 chances.
Nakano contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Central Valley in the top of the third. With his team trailing 3-2, Nakano took a changeup from Mario Rojas and stroked the home run to right. His 36th home run of the season allowed the Turkey Vultures to leap in front, 4-3.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Nakano. "And not try to do too much."
The Turkey Vultures bumped their record to 85-53 with this latest triumph.
