Victory Pushes Stalkers Record to 73-64
|
Iowa City beat Texas on the strength of starter Bryan Bradshaw's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 3-1 win. Bradshaw got the win, improving to 7-4. He allowed 4 hits and walked 5 over 7 innings. Bradshaw allowed 1 earned run. The first-place Stalkers, at 73-64, now lead their division by 3½ games.
The Stalkers got a big at-bat from shortstop David Peck. For the game, Peck went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 28th home run of the season gave Iowa City a 3-0 lead.
Peck called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
