Pride Come Back Late to Top Turkey Vultures
|
The Central Valley Turkey Vultures got a superb performance from pitcher Juan Varela. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Potthole. The Pride won the game, 7-4. In spite of the loss, Varela was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings allowing 2 runs. Even with the win, the Pride have a dismal 40-96 record.
Paco Niñor, who is tied for 6th in the NL in hits with 161, helped out the Potthole cause in the top of the ninth inning with a bases-clearing double. For the game, the second baseman was 2-5 with a double. He drove in 3 runs.
Niñor told a Potthole Daily reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
