Stalkers Lose to Renegades, 2-1
|
The Texas Renegades and Iowa City Stalkers played a tight game at The Cavern, with the hosts claiming the hard-fought win.
The Texas Renegades picked up a win at The Cavern, knocking off the Iowa City Stalkers, 2-1. Starting pitcher Shih-k'ai Su-Tu, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Su-Tu went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 2. His record improves to 1-0. Juan Arreola converted his 9th save in 9 tries.
Texas took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, first baseman Aaron Brown hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Mark Sands.
Iowa City's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
