Boomsticks Come Up Short at Greenville
|
The Greenville 84s got a strong performance from pitcher Luke Taylor, who stymied the Asheville offense en route to a 2-1 win at Griffith's Park. Chad Bruce earned his 1st save in 2 chances. Greenville is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Rob Higgins drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Greenville. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Luis González. It was his 35th walk of the season.
"We scored one run," said Asheville manager Jon Papp. "You're not gonna get a lot of Ws scoring just one run."
