Boomsticks Lose to Indians, 7-3
|
Indianapolis Indians starter Dave Keller was in fine form against the Asheville Boomsticks at Thunder Stadium, leading his team to a 7-3 win. Indianapolis reliever Patrick Phillips got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Jerry James was tagged with the loss. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Indians.
Had Fernando Durón not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Durón hit a 2-run double. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Indians.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Indianapolis manager Mike Leslie.
