The Great Black Swamp Mud Hens picked up a win at The Euclyptus Nest, knocking off the Central Valley Turkey Vultures, 4-3. On the mound for Great Black Swamp was right-hander Pablo Mejía, who played a pivotal role in the win. In 8 innings, Mejía surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. The Mud Hens bumped their record to 67-65 with this latest triumph.
The Mud Hens got a big at-bat from right fielder Ryan Davis. For the game, Davis went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 24th home run of the season gave Great Black Swamp a 4-2 lead.
"We found a way to get it done," Mejía said.
