Indians Nip Turkey Vultures, 6-5
|
Central Valley got a terrific game from first baseman Francisco Ramírez. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Indianapolis, 6-5. Ramírez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. The Indians improve their record to 62-67 with the win over Central Valley.
Ed Duncan aided the Indianapolis cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the third. For the game, the designated hitter was 2-4 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Indianapolis manager Mike Leslie.
