Moneymen Roll to 10-2 Win Over Drifters
|
The New York Moneymen topped the Dam Site Drifters, 10-2, with third baseman Tim Hawk playing a big role. Hawk was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Moneymen in the win. Eldon Knight picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 5 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 5-8. The Moneymen improve their record to 63-66 with the win over Dam Site.
Kazunari Gato, who is tied for 3rd in the NL in bases on balls with 73, chipped in for New York with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
