Turkey Vultures Come Back Late to Clip Indians
|
Central Valley Turkey Vultures starter Fernando Ortíz was in fine form against the Indianapolis Indians at Thunder Stadium, leading his team to a 5-4 win. Ortíz went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 15-5. The Turkey Vultures have an impressive 79-49 record.
Had Ramón De Los Santos not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, De Los Santos hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Turkey Vultures.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," De Los Santos said.
