Peterson 'Lights Out' in New York Win
|
The New York Moneymen reigned over the Potthole Pride in damp conditions at The Stinger.
In a low-scoring tilt between the New York Moneymen and the Potthole Pride, Don Peterson was the difference-maker. The New York right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 2-0 win. Henry Mathews notched his 33rd save in 37 chances.
Peterson tossed 99 pitches over 8 innings to clinch the win for the Moneymen. The right-hander allowed just 5 hits, while racking up 10 strikeouts in the game.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Potthole skipper Matt Philpott, "and it cost us."
New York, now 62-65, holds third place in the Nationalist League Stripes Division.
