Moneymen Best Indians in Pitching Duel
|
The Indianapolis Indians got a sterling performance from pitcher Dave Keller, but the Moneymen still prevailed, 2-1. Keller was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Henry Mathews earned his 32nd save in 36 chances. The Moneymen now have a record of 61-63.
It could have been a different outcome for New York, had it not been for Kevin Gamble, the two-time All-Star . Gamble contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put New York up, 2-1.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Gamble told the New York Today. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
