84s Stymie Diablo Canyon, Take 6-1 Win
|
The Greenville 84s got a stellar performance from pitcher Travis Taylor, who handcuffed the Diablo Canyon offense en route to a 6-1 win at Griffith's Park. Taylor went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 7-8. Carlos Morán got the save, his 1st in 2 chances.
Greenville took a 4-0 lead on Rob Higgins's 17th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Higgins hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Diablo Canyon pitcher Kenko Otani shaking his head.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Taylor said after the game.
The 84s move to 60-63 with the win, while the Tritium drop to 67-56.
