There was no shortage of dramatics at Superior Stadium today.

The Cummaquid Squids got a sterling performance from pitcher Dennis Allen, but the Drifters still prevailed, 2-1. Allen was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. The third-place Drifters now have a 5-game winning streak.

Dam Site's win came gift-wrapped. With one out in the bottom of the ninth, with the game tied, Phil Berry reached on an error by the left fielder, driving in 1 run.

"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Dam Site manager Andy Evans.
