The Diablo Canyon Tritium got a strong performance from pitcher Mike Bates, who stymied the Wildwood offense en route to a 3-2 win at Carp Coliseum. Yukio Hayagawa got the save, his 36th in 40 chances. The Tritium bumped their record to 66-55 with this latest triumph.

The Tritium got a big at-bat from first baseman Earl Hodges. For the game, Hodges went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 31st home run of the season gave Diablo Canyon a 3-0 lead.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Diablo Canyon manager PA Blaylock.
