The Wicker Park Devil Cats defeated the Motown Hitmakers, 5-2, in Patriotic League action at Old League Park, with Wicker Park pitcher Nobuo Kichida named player of the game. The Devil Cats saw their record improve to 55-65.

The Devil Cats got a big at-bat from catcher Clint Crockett. For the game, Crockett was 1 for 2 with a double and was hit by a pitch. In the top of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 6th double of the season gave Wicker Park a 2-1 lead.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Kichida said after the game.
