Wicker Park and Asheville duked it out at Quick Stop Stadium and the Devil Cats came out victorious.

Wicker Park starter Bob Powell pitched effectively against the Asheville Boomsticks at Quick Stop Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a 5-2 win. The winning pitcher was Powell, now 16-6. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3.

The Devil Cats got a big at-bat from shortstop Germán Martínez. For the game, Martínez went 2 for 3 with a double and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 15th double of the season gave Wicker Park a 2-0 lead.

"I really like what we did out there today," Martínez said after the game.
