Trojans Walk It Off for 45th Win of Season
|
Wildwood got a terrific performance from first baseman Chris Terry, but it wasn't enough to beat the Warren Trojans. Warren won the James R. Fouts Memorial Stadium contest, 5-4. Terry was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. The winner was Jesse Wilcox in relief. His record improves to 2-14. William Cokinbred took the loss. Warren goes to 45-67, Wildwood to 76-36.
The Trojans beat the Fishers with some clutch hitting. The single by Román Navarro in the bottom of the 12th is a good example. With two down, Navarro gave his team the lead, 5-4, when he came through with the big hit.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Navarro told reporters after the game.
