Drifters Win at Indianapolis, 7-5
|
Dam Site and Indianapolis duked it out at Thunder Stadium and the Drifters came out victorious.
The Indianapolis Indians got a superb performance from third baseman Rubén Valentín, but the Dam Site Drifters still won the game, 7-5. Valentín was named the player of the game despite the loss. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Don Thomas went 7 innings for Dam Site to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 3 earned runs. He scattered 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 7. His record improves to 4-3.
Roberto Rivera, who is tied for 2nd in the NL in RBI with 77, chipped in for Dam Site with a 3-run home run in the top of the first. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Rivera.
