Late Rally by Turkey Vultures Secures Win
|
Joe Winstanley helped his team muscle past the Texas Renegades, 4-3. In the game, the Central Valley third baseman went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. Richard Davis picked up the win with 7.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 10 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 13-5. Tsuyoshi Harada converted his 2nd save in 3 tries.
The Turkey Vultures got a big at-bat from left fielder Gavin Wright. For the game, Wright went 1 for 2 with a walk. In the top of the eighth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 66th hit of the season gave Central Valley a 4-3 lead.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Wright.
The first-place Turkey Vultures, at 66-42, now lead their division by 10˝ games.
