LumberJaxxx Bang Out 7-4 Win Versus New York
|
Getting a good performance from left fielder Francisco García, the Ludington LumberJaxxx defeated the New York Moneymen, 7-4. García went 1 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the LumberJaxxx. Matt Hughes picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 8 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 17-2. Daniel Bissonnette notched his 15th save in 15 chances.
García contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Ludington in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-0, García took a fastball from Wilson Horton and stroked the home run to left-center. His 1st home run of the season allowed the LumberJaxxx to leap in front, 3-2.
In comments to the Ludington Herald, García admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
Ludington goes to 77-31. The win puts them 16½ games up in their division.
