Turkey Vultures Top Boomsticks in Extras
|
The Central Valley Turkey Vultures downed the Asheville Boomsticks, 4-3, in 10 innings. Pete Colón led the way, going 3-for-4 for Central Valley. The Boomsticks, now 38-69, have lost 5 straight.
Central Valley used the timely hitting of Joe Winstanley to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Turkey Vultures on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Winstanley said.
