Fujihara on Fire: 5-for-5 for Newcastle
Speaking with reporters after a dominating hitting performance, Kaoru Fujihara said his club's tilt with the Wildwood Fishers "felt almost like batting practice." The 24-year-old first baseman went a remarkable 5-for-5 at the plate.

"I saw the ball well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted," he recalled later.

However, his sensational day wasn't enough for the Newcastle House of Brews, who were topped by the Fishers, 8-7.

"It's a good lesson for him, I guess," House of Brews manager Paul Collins said. "Sometimes Kaoru is going to lose. But I would rather him go 5-for-5 and lose than go 0-for-5 and lose."

Kaoru Fujihara hit a solo-shot off Emílio Romero in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off John Hall in the 8th.

For the year Fujihara is batting .279 with 118 hits and 10 home runs. He has scored 46 times and driven in 54.
