Victory Pushes Stalkers Record to 57-47
|
Iowa City rode a fine outing from starter Joseph Burns to victory over the Ludington LumberJaxxx at Husqvarna Field. The final score was 3-1. In 6 innings, Burns surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Shimei Nakai converted his 31st save in 35 tries.
The Stalkers got a big at-bat from second baseman William Stoltz. For the game, Stoltz went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 20th home run of the season gave Iowa City a 3-0 lead.
"Joseph did a tremendous job," said Iowa City manager Mark Sands.
